Iconic TV Duos With Major Sibling Energy

No one knows you like your siblings. After all, they probably grew up with you, shared the same parents or home life, and have seen you through your best and worst life moments. But that doesn’t mean all siblings are connected by blood, either. In honour of International Siblings Day, we decided to celebrate some of our favourite STACKTV siblings as well as the duos who give off major sibling energy.

Life Is Messy: Kortney Wilson and Kenny Brain

Kortney and Kenny have always given sibling energy, from the moment they paired up on Making It Home. The duo is always able to laugh through even the most stressful of renovations, and they often show up for each other when they need it most. Case in point? Kenny was a stellar Flower Man at Kortney’s wedding to Ryan Vella. We can’t wait to see how they continue bringing that energy to their latest series, Life Is Messy, now streaming on STACKTV. Catch new episodes every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.

Rick and Morty: Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith

They may not always act like family, but Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty are one of STACKTV’s most iconic duos. Equal parts chaos and co‑dependence, their relationship feels deeply sibling‑coded—constant bickering, eye‑rolling, dragged‑along adventures, and the occasional moment that proves they’d still choose each other in any Rick and Morty universe.

The Curse of Oak Island: Rick and Marty Lagina

These real-life siblings host The Curse of Oak Island, bringing their brotherly love to Oak Island lore. They’ve been obsessed with the mysteries of the island since reading a 1965 article about it in Reader’s Digest, and as kids they often dug up their own treasures in Michigan forests. These days, they’re like the real life Hardy Boys, and part of the fun of the show is watching them bring their kid-like enthusiasm to their grown-up treasure hunts.

SNL: Michael Che and Colin Jost

The Weekend Update anchors are THE reason to watch Saturday Night Live every week thanks to their big sibling energy. Their joke swaps are hilarious, they make each other laugh every episode, and the way they jab at each other reminds us of lifelong brothers who know exactly how to push buttons while still bringing the love.

The ‘Burbs: Rob Fisher (Jack Whitehall) and Naveen (Kapil Talwalkar)

There’s so much to love about the zany characters and big energy that all of the actors bring to The ‘Burbs, but the relationship between childhood friends Rob and Naveen is one of the most sibling-like we’ve seen. Having grown up together they know each other extremely well, and they’re definitely trauma bonded because of their past. Still, there’s a solid friendship there that shows they’ve got each other’s backs no matter what.

Scott’s Vacation House Rules: Scott McGillivray and Debra Salmoni

The contractor and designer love having fun together, and that’s one of the most entertaining parts of this renovation series. Whether they’re finishing each other’s jingles, testing out the fun aspects of the cottage, or making each other laugh during the confessionals, it’s obvious that they have a tight-knit friendship that makes them feel more like siblings.

Outlander: Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Jenny Murray (Laura Donnelly)

Claire might be the love of Jamie’s life, but his relationship with Jenny was just as memorable. Her love for her brother was obvious from the second she appeared onscreen, and we love that she understands him and his traumatic past more than anyone else. She has always been home to him, and vice versa.

ted: Ted (Seth MacFarlane) and John Bennett (Max Burkholder)

Sure, one is a teddy bear and one is a teen, but together John and Ted get into all kinds of trouble, just like real siblings, in the series ted. Their energy, communication and all-around friendship is the stuff that sets the tone for a lifelong bond, even when it results in the inappropriate handling of situations or unexpected comments.

Bel-Air: Will Smith (Jabari Banks) and Carlton Banks (Olly Sholotan)

Things have never been smooth between these cousins in Bel-Air, who are based on the frenemies from the original Fresh Prince of Bel-Air series. Yet, for all of the dramatic and tense moments they’ve gone through, this duo also shares a strong sense of family and commitment. In the end, they will always been there for each other, just like real brothers would.

The Paper: Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson) and Esmeralda Grand (Sabrina Impacciatore)

Everyone knows that Esmeralda was hoping to get the Editor-in-Chief gig, despite her obvious lack of experience in the journalism business. And when Ned came in instead, she certainly made life hard for him. Yet, at some point, their antics became very sibling-like, with teasing and tattling whenever possible. Now, their relationship is as brother-and-sister-like as it can get, and we can’t wait to see where that journey takes them next on The Paper.

All Her Fault: Marissa Irvine (Sarah Snook) and Jenny Kaminski (Dakota Fanning)

Marissa isn’t short on extended family thanks to her husband’s super-sized clan. But while those relationships seem built on appearance and power, it was Marissa’s unexpected friendship with Jenny that really anchored the top series, All Her Fault. These two women and mothers coming together in love and support, without judgement, was one of the fiercest things we’ve seen on television. We like to imagine they’ll still be sisterly friends sharing wine on the porch well into their golden years.
