Plus, things have changed a lot over those 50 seasons. From when and where Survivor airs, to the rules of the game, we’ve compiled a list of some of your most frequently asked questions.
When and Where does Survivor air?
Traditionally, Survivor airs Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. on GlobalTV. However, things have changed a lot over the last 25 years and 50 seasons. Now you don’t have to rush home to make sure you catch the latest episode. Instead, Canadians can stream the newest episode, or binge entire seasons on STACKTV. Gone are the days of adjusting your bunny ear antennae, now you can watch anytime, anywhere, and on any device.
Who Hosts Survivor?
For more than two decades, Emmy Award–winning host Jeff Probst has anchored Survivor as its charismatic host and executive producer, guiding the show through countless twists, triumphs and reinventions.
Is Survivor real or scripted?
The show is in fact real and not scripted. Contestants are left with minimal supplies, build their own shelters and must find their own food. The challenges contestants face are very much real and often daunting. Since the very first season, lying and subterfuge has played a crucial role in the daily lives of contestants on the island. Participants do their best to sus out the intentions and alliances of their competition.

What happens to voted-out contestants?
When a player is voted off the island, they are taken to a nearby resort called Ponderosa. At the resort they are free to eat, relax, and recover while they wait for the jury phase to conclude. If you ask us, being voted out doesn’t sound all that bad after being stuck on a deserted island.
Do players get paid?
Yes. All players receive a stipend, which increases based on how long they last in the game. So, even if you don’t win that final $1 million USD grand prize (and major bragging rights), you certainly aren’t going home empty handed.
